Café Review: Brew Bros, Sheung Wan (Hong Kong)

IMG_1561.jpg

Brew Bros opened up earlier this year in the already crowded specialty coffee neighbourhood of Sheung Wan. They say they focus on specialty coffee in the ‘Melbourne style’ with ‘Japanese ambience’. The head barista, Hikaru Ono, brings with him experience from both Japan and Australia and serves Market Lane coffee as well as a few other choices in the usual espresso drink and pour-over varieties.

I tried their Rwandan single origin there and it was prepared perfectly with a really well-developed fruity and caramel aroma - a lot more fragrant than what I was expecting. It took a little while to arrive. The barista was super busy - didn't get a chance to ask him his methodology (and there wasn't space to stand around and watch). But it was worth the wait to have something well-crafted served.

Brew Bros is open Tuesdays to Sundays from 8-6pm, and is located at 33 Hillier St in Sheung Wan, right near Exit A2 of Sheung Wan MTR.
