Cafe Review - Cabrito, Sydney CBD

You can't escape the suits in the Sydney CBD in the morning. I should know. I used to be one of them.

Crowds of people nonetheless line up for Cabrito's specialty coffee in the heart of Sydney's CBD, off Pitt st near Darling Harbour. Espresso drinks are served excellently, and no double-take at my order for a double shot 3/4 flat white (my way of saying 60ml of coffee with 60ml of milk, though I don't know if I'm consistently getting that). They offer single origin espresso drinks, but I still am perplexed at the idea of the SO latte. Seems like an inappropriate use of quality beans. Regardless, the house blend flat white they served me was done well and with latte art - which even though has become the deficit standard, is still appreciated at rush hour.

I also enjoyed the iron rhino used as a table number indicator. No idea how that worked (did they key 'iron rhino' into the point-of-sales terminal? I really want to know!)

Cabrito roasts at least some of its own beans. They seem to only have espresso roasts and blends. I asked for pourovers and they said 'next year', i.e. 2015. Well, that's coming soon. Try back in Jan.
